  • Very Poor service,liars

An FYI for my local friends NEVER go to Aamco transmission on S.E. 14TH, Des Moines Iowa I went there back in May to get my transmission fluid changed , I bought my truck with over 100,000 miles , thought it best to get it changed since it wasn't serviced at the dealer. Transmission was fine and had no issues whatsoever before getting changed. But after getting changed it started intermittently jerking at stop and taking off from the stop and not shifting correctly. I took it back 3 to 4 times and each time they said the transmission was full and shifted correctly and it... More...

  • AAMCO transmission misdiagnosed and still having issue

Brought my truck in at AAMCO on Red Bluff Rd in Pasadena, Tx for what I thought was my transmission slipping intermittently and noise in transfer case. I was told they would take the tranny apart and advise. They said once they figured out what was wrong if anything they would give me a price. If I did not want to have the job done they would charge $600 to put the tranny back together. They quoted $6k for rebuilding the tranny, I chose to opt out of the repairs due to the age of the truck and repairs cost. When advised to put the tranny back together for the $600, they basically refused... More...

I bought an amazon deal for brakes, pads and inspection for $59. They were nice about booking but of course, I get called several times about all the problems with my brakes. Supposedly my calipers seized and the bill was $1200. I was not happy. My car still rolls backwards and they keep dismissing the problem. Now, a year later, my brakes are shaking in the front. I called and spoke to the owner. I told him I needed my rotors turned. He asked me why I would need that done and made it sound like that is something that you just don't do. I had an inspection done and he basically told me... More...

I originally had my transmission repaired in July 2011. After barely 8 months, it started acting up again. I dropped the car off on 3/15. Picked it up on 3/22, after being promised it would be ready several times in between, only for it to still be messed up. I dropped it back off Friday afternoon and was told it would be ready on 3/26. Just received a phone call that it will now not be ready until 3/28 or 3/29. They refused to pay for a rental car or to discount the work that I paid for in compensation for this HUGE inconvenience. They have also refused to warranty this latest work.... More...

I dropped my car off on November 28th. They said they would call me with what was wrong. On Dec 5th they called and the torque converter needed replaced. I asked if they were going to replace it with a new one they said yes. I asked them to fix the e-brake. They replaced the caliper in the rear. I was charged $437.03 on 12/10/08 and picked up the car. I found out they installed a rebuilt torque converter. One week later the ebrake was not working. I stopped there and they dislodged the stuck ebrake. They said to call back after the New Year because they were swamped. I called... More...
