An FYI for my local friends
NEVER go to Aamco transmission on S.E. 14TH, Des Moines Iowa
I went there back in May to get my transmission fluid changed , I bought my truck with over 100,000 miles , thought it best to get it changed since it wasn't serviced at the dealer.
Transmission was fine and had no issues whatsoever before getting changed.
But after getting changed it started intermittently jerking at stop and taking off from the stop and not shifting correctly.
I took it back 3 to 4 times and each time they said the transmission was full and shifted correctly and it didn't jerk.
Last week I had enough and took it to Cottmans and right off the bat they said fluid was way over filled and was not shifting correctly .
Yesterday I got the transmission fluid flushed at Cottmans and so far no jerking at stop and is shifting correctly .
Aamco also claimed my struts were shot,
I took it to another shop and they said struts were fine.
After getting fluid flushed at Cottmans yesterday went back to Aamco and spoke with mngr Tim demanded my money back ,
After trying to make excuses and trying to tell me this and that he reluctantly gave my money back.
They may have giving my money back, but I still do not recommend anyone to go there, bunch of schysters and liars and try to get you to pay for things you don't need, its like they were waiting for my transmission to totally get messed up so I could buy another from them
